God, in His glorious grace, has entrusted the church with the precious and somber responsibility of teaching students to know and love Him. We believe this happens first in the home of the believer, as he/she is grows in the knowledge and worship of Christ. Because of this, we equip our covenanted church family members through worship and teaching on Sunday mornings and through life groups which are held weekly. We expect our students to attend multi-generational life groups with their parents, but we are also aware that this is a crucial time in life when peer groups hold the most influence. For that reason, we are very intentional to provide our students with a time when they can meet weekly with their peers for the study and worship of God.
We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ compels us to instruct our students to BE disciples and to MAKE disciples. This is seen in Matthew 22:36-40 when Jesus answers the question, “What is the greatest commandment?” with these words. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” These words define our mission, sharpen our focus, and allow us to be single-minded in our pursuit of Christ. Every activity, camp, bible study, event, gathering, etc. will be designed to teach our students to delight in God and to share His goodness with their neighbors. In the responsibility of preparing our students for life in and beyond school, we will strive to teach them how to refresh the hearts of the saints (Philemon 1:7), how to correct their opponents with gentleness (2 Timothy 2:25), and how to wait expectantly for His glorious coming (1 Peter 1:4). He is our heart’s desire, and we will pursue him unashamedly “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).
